The following series of photos were taken while installing a Direct Drive mount in the wing of a Carden YAK.

Begin by holding the mount and carefully tracing its outline onto the wing

Use a drill to start one or more pilot holes

Rough-cut the traced area

Precision trim the opening to perfectly fit the mount

The mount should have a snug fit within the hole

Bend a piece of piano wire to fit in a soldering gun - the wire will be used to cut the core foam

Cut the foam core to accept the mount

Transfer the mount location to the aileron

Glue the mount in place in the wing

Mount servo arm onto control horn

Shape the control horn to fit inside the aileron
